Photography – a Passion That Warms Your Heart and Empties Your Wallet

Photography is more than just taking pictures – it’s a state of mind, a life philosophy… and a slow descent into bankruptcy.

It starts innocently enough: “I’ll just buy one small camera to try it out.” Three months later, your house is filled with three bodies, five lenses, and a whole collection of filters you’re not even sure what they do.

Let’s be honest: photography requires sacrifices – not just creative ones. Every shoot isn’t just about framing, waiting for the perfect light, and clicking at the right moment. It’s also about calculating how much of your last paycheck will go to memory cards, how much to a tripod, and how much… to coffee at that overpriced café, because you have to “sit down and feel inspired.”

And lenses! Oh, lenses are a whole other story. That fast portrait lens? Essential. The wide-angle for landscapes? Of course. A telephoto for birds and squirrels? Who could resist! And suddenly, instead of a vacation in Greece, you spend the summer saving up for a new UV filter that costs as much as a weekend at the beach.

The best part, though, is the sense of triumph when you finally capture that moment. Suddenly, all the bills, the paycheck reduced to scraps of paper, and the money spent on coffee seem… worth every cent. Because photography isn’t just a hobby – it’s an expensive path to happiness. At least until your camera breaks and you have to open your wallet all over again.
